TOOLS OF THE TRADE: PICKLE POTTERY

TOOLS OF THE TRADE

with

STEPHANIE ADAMS of PICKLE POTTERY

.

Stephanie is one of the many amazing women I have been blessed to have met on my journey as an artist and maker.  A skilled potter and artist, she has a truly unique style to her designs and a sincere dedication to her craft. When I started this project I knew I wanted to feature her and her tools.  There is so much beauty in how well used and well loved Stephanie's tools are. And her work stands the test of time...I drink out of one of her hand made mugs every day in my home and workshop.  Below she shares her beloved tools.

What is your craft?

Pottery

.

What are your 5 most used tools of your trade?

The pottery wheel, wire tool, sponge, rib, kanna

.

Do you have a tool that’s unique, an heirloom, or holds special significance for you?

I have a little knife tool that I love because the handle broke & my boyfriend made me a new handle out of wood.

.

If you could talk tools with another artist, maker, or crafts person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

I love Japanese aesthetics in pottery so I would want to chat with a Potter from Japan.
